There is immense scope for positive debate among students studying here. We are everywhere in the country supporting and contributing towards nation building. JNU also gives back a lot to the country. "This is not an issue with this institution alone. Such scenes shown in films are often done for publicity stunt too. However, according to him, JNU has been potrayed in a very bad light, which is not correct, because such people exist everywhere. ![]()

![]() ![]() The character feels out of place somewhat too. Am aware that the adults not being very bright is a recurring theme in both this and books, but this really takes the biscuit. ![]() The episode and the series really overdoes the character's ineptitude, and for things that are so simple and obvious, that he becomes a very annoying character (it is not just the overdone coughing either, it is a habit not that he is seriously ill), so much so one actually wonders how he got into the job he is in. Am really not a fan of Mr Poe in this series and throughout, not just this. ![]() What makes "The Wide Window: Part 2" a slight improvement over "The Wide Window: Part 1" is that things move forward, there is more progression and there is more momentum with things getting to the point quicker. Just slightly though because both are very good and have very little wrong with them. Even more so perhaps and for me this improves upon the first part. What was so well done and so promising in the first part is apparent too in "The Wide Window's" second part. ![]() The settled and hitting its stride feel that that had carries over though in "The Wide Window" and there is a sense of moving forward. As an overall adaptation it wasn't quite as good as "The Reptile Room", which (both parts) was one of the best adaptations of the 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' series. The first part of "The Wide Window" was very well done and captured the dark tone of the book perfectly. ![]() 6/22/2023 0 Comments Nana kwame adjei brenyah books![]() ![]() In CAPE, prisoners travel as Links in Chain-Gangs, competing in death-matches for packed arenas with righteous protestors at the gates. ![]() It’s the return of the gladiators and prisoners are competing for the ultimate prize: their freedom. Set in Clapham during the blitz (before the war, Greene owned a house in Clapham), it’s a story of adultery. Crucially, it dates from Greene’s best years, the age of postwar austerity that also nurtured the previous author (No 70) in this series, George Orwell. The novel owes its inspiration to the conventions of romantic fiction while at the same time transcending genre. I’ve chosen The End of the Affair because it blurs the line he drew between his “entertainments” and his more serious work. The idiocies, miseries, and other discouragements of our era tend to seem novel or modern hearing them described in a classical dialogue reminds us that they are nothing new. The teachings of the Stoics are as interesting and valuable now as when first written-maybe more so, since the passage of two millennia has confirmed so much of what they said. They said a number of the best things that anyone ever has. But in other ways they were far ahead of their times. The Stoics had their limitations, of course they held some beliefs that very few people do anymore. They were philosophers of a down-to-earth sort, seeking by force of their insights to free ordinary people from their sufferings and illusions.
